2023 In Review

Cullen Foundation is excited to announce multiple grant cycles, supporting our Education and Performing Arts focus areas, opening in January 2024.

The Cullen Foundation is pleased to announce the members of our new charter school cohorts. As part of our new strategic plan for funding the local charter sector, we are sponsoring four cohorts of charter schools to address issues of particular concern over the next three years.

2023 Education Capacity Building Grant Round. In September, Cullen concluded its summer education responsive grant round for supplemental academic programs.

Over the past five months, Cullen Foundation implemented its newest “Sector Initiative” for performing arts grantees in partnership with New York Council on Nonprofits, Inc. (NYCON) through a series of customized workshops to address the most frequently cited governance and financial challenges facing the local sector.

Following three years of analysis, planning, and discussion with school, district, college, and nonprofit leaders, the Cullen Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the new Buffalo Urban Teaching Fellows (BUTF) program to address increasingly acute local teacher shortages.
